Charity was born in 1801 in ,Surry Co., N.C.. Charity's father was Daniel I Pilcher and her mother was Susannah Susan Murphy. Her paternal grandparents were James Pilcher and Phoebe Fielding. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Daniel II, William, James+, Phoebe, Mary+ and Elizabeth "Billsey". She died at the age of 89 in 1890 in Yadkinville, Yadkin Co., N.C..-
