Robert de Burgo de Mortaigne was born in Normandy, France.¹   Robert de Burgo de Mortaigne's father was Herluin de Conteville Vct de Conteville and his mother was Herleva (Arlette) de Falaise.  His paternal grandfather was John de Bourg de Tonsburgh Earl of Comyn; his maternal grandparents were Fulbert the Tanner de Falaise and Duxia de Falaise. He had a sister named Emma. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named William I the Conqueror and Adeliza de Normandy.  He died on December 8th, 1090 in France.  He was buried in Acceded: 1049 as Count of Mortaigne, also Earl of Cornwall..^1 1
