Dirk III de Holland was born in 0985 in of Gand, Flandre, Orientale, Belgium.1   Dirk III de Holland's father was Arnulf de Holland Ct de Holland and his mother was Luitgarde de Cleves Cts de Luxemburg.  His maternal grandparents were Sigefrid de Luxemburg Ct de Luxemburg and Hedwig von Nordgau.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 54 on May 27th, 1039.  He was buried in Acceded: 1033..1 1
