Narrative
[byrne.ftw]
!After a lingering illness of a long standing little Oakland McCurdy,
the eight year old girl of Mr. and Mrs. Ray McCurdy fell on sleep at
about 2:00 P M. Saturday, April 23, 1927. She passed her eight
birthday February 12th. For over four weeks she had been in a very
serious condition but for the last twelve days she was unconscious.
First and last three doctors counseled on her case but nothing could
be done for her. Sunday afternoon funeral services were conducted in
the Vance Church and her little body was laid to rest in the Vance
Cemetery to await the call of the blessed Lord at his coming. We join
with a host of others in tender sympathy to the Father and Mother in
this sad hour of separation. "She saw a hand you could not see, Which
beckoned her away; She heard a voice you could not hear, Which called
her home to stay."
