Narrative
REFERENCE: 83 VA Cousi
Samuel Goode, No. 83 in Va Cousins appears to have been a soldier in the
Revolution; he undoubtedly met his death either in war or at the hands of
the Tories. The family appeared to have been driven from its home near
Richmond to the lower part of Virginia by the persecutions of the Tories.
The wife of No. 83 was probably a Miss Watkins, who after his death seems
to have married a Mr. Lancaster about 1780. p. 50F Va Cousins
Not only John Goode, No. 83, but several of his sons appear to have been
engaged in the Revolutionary struggle. One son, perhaps Philip Goode, No.
201, was killed. Errata et Corrigenda, Va Cousins
