Field Jefferson died in his home above the Roanoake River, Mecklenburg
Co. VA. He married Mary Frances Robertson(1st wife) in Osbornes, Henrico
Co., VA, daughter of George Robertson and Mary Worsham(daughter of John
and Phoebe Worsham)(John Worsham was the son of William I and wife
Elizabeth Littlebury) of Bristol Parish, Henrico Co. VA. He married Mary
(Hunt) Minge Allen(2nd wife) 31 October 1753, daughter of William Hunt
and Tabitha Edloe. You can see his famous church, "The Old Blandford
Church" in Petersburg, VA just off I95. Field and Mary Frances were
probably married in the new Jefferson or Ware Bottom Church which had
been newly constructed by Field's father in 1723. Today a rough boulder
marks the site of the Jefferson lands at Mt. MyLady. It is thoutht that
the church records were destroyed during the Revolutionary or Civil War
as many encampments were held in this area. The Chesterfield Museum
holds some drawings and diggings from the old Jefferson Church. After
the death of Mary Frances, Field married Mary Hunt Minge Allen who died
on March 8, 1763 in Buckingham Co. VA. All the Field Jefferson children
were from his 1st marriage. Mary Hunt Minge Allen first married Robert
Minge and second she married, William Allen in Charles City, Virginia
about 1721. Field Jefferson operated a ferry across the Roanoke River
