Bennet Goode, No. 110 in Va Cousins, son of Bennet Goode, no. 59 in Va
Cousins, was a wealthy planter, represented Mecklenburg Co., in the
Virginia House of Burgesses, and in the Conventions of Delegates in
Richmond and Williamsburg, 1775, as well as the Convention which formed
the first constitution of Virginia. In 1776 Bennet Goode, Esq. was
appounted Commissioner to collect evidence in behalf of Virginia against
persons professing to have claims for lands on the colony under deeds and
purchases from the Indians. (Virginia State Papers, I, p. 273.) p. 67 Va
Cousins. Died leaving a widow and four children.
