1 Henrietta's father was Charles Thornton(NGarden) and her mother was Sarah Anne Fitzhugh(Bellair). Her paternal grandparents were Anthony Thornton(Ormsby) II and Sarah Taliaferro; her maternal grandparents were John Fitzhugh(Bellair) and Alice Catlett Thornton. She had seven brothers and three sisters, named Fitzhugh Jones, Charles Fitzhugh, John Henry Fitzhugh, Henry Fitzhugh, William Tucker, Daniel McCarty Fitzhugh, Francis, Elizabeth, Katherine Presley and Alice.1 General Notes
