Ella B. was born in September 1875 in CAROLINE VA.1 Ella B.'s father was Wade Augustine Thornton and her mother was Cecelia Washington. Her paternal grandparents were Philip Wade Thornton(Chatterton) and Lucy Austin Brockenbrough. She had a brother and six sisters, named Austin, Virginia W., Cecelia W., Lucy A., Caroline N., Eva G. and Augustu. She was the second youngest of the eight children.1 General Notes
