Elizabeth Pendleton was born on March 1st, 1814. Elizabeth Pendleton's father was Richard "Black Dick" Taylor and her mother was Mary Taylor. Her paternal grandparents were Richard, Commodore Taylor and Catherine Davis; her maternal grandparents were Captain Edmond Taylor and Sarah Stubbs. She had seven brothers and seven sisters, named Edmund, George, Col. Edmund Haynes, John Eastin, George Colby, Richard Davis, William Henry Harrison, Sarah Frances, Mary Wallace, Myra Madison, Matilda Catherine, Louisa Ann Thomas, Martha Christy and Caroline Virginia. She was the sixth youngest of the fifteen children.-
