Redding Pate 
Redding was born about 1743 in VA. Redding's father was Samuel Jacob Pate and his mother was Zilla Broach. His paternal grandparents were Matthew Pate and Anne Reade. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Jacob, Reverend William, Jesse, Elijah, John, Rebecca, Rachel, Nancy and Mollie. He was the fourth oldest of the ten children.-
