Rufus K. Harrison 
Rufus K. was born about 1830 in "Chester, " Sussex Co., Va. Rufus K.'s father was Colonel William H. Harrison and his mother was Louisa Goode. His paternal grandfather was William Harrison; his maternal grandparents were Colonel Francis Goode and Alice Harris. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Surgeon Richard J., U.S.N., Dr. Wesley, Thomas, William, Lucy and Virginia. He died after 1885 in Stony Creek, Sussex Co., Va.General Notes

Rufus K. Harrison was appointed a cadet in the U.S. Military Academy in
1846, but did not complete his course. He served through the war in Co.
B, 7th Virginia Cavalry, C.S.A. He is now (1885) a farmer and
Superintendant of Schools in his native county.
