Thomas' father was John Collier Goode and his mother was Dorothea Venable. His paternal grandfather was Robert Goode; his maternal grandparents were Charles Venable and Elizabeth Smith. He had four brothers named Samuel Venable, Ebenezer, Joseph and Robert. He died in 1885 in Kentucky.General Notes
