Laura was born in 1862. Laura's father was Benjamin Franklin Goode and her mother was Eliza Hull. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Goode and Sarah F. Elliott. She had two brothers and five sisters, named John Edward, Thomas J.G., Maggie, Martha, Sarah, Seven more children of B. F. and Mary.-
