Edward Goode, of Amelia, or Charlotte Co., VA (No. 204 in Virginia
Cousins, p. 98 and p. 99) son of Mackerness Goode, no. 84, was born 1760
-75, married Elizabeth (Woodson) Martin, widow of Thomas Martin, and
daughter of Richard Woodson of Poplar Hill, known as "Baron Woodson" on
account of his great landed estates.*

581-7, He had no son, but several daughters; one of them apparently m.
about 1770-80, William Mann, whose bro., John Mann, m. a sister of
Rebekah Hayes Goode, No. 171) and removed to "the district of Tennessee."
A Miss Goode, probably another daughter, dying early in the century, left
to Edward Mann, her nephew, son of William, "a fine estate in Dinwiddie
Co., -land, negroes, horses, and stock of every description, valued at
about $ 50,000."
