George was born in 1770 in KING GEORGE VA.1 George's father was John Fitzhugh(Bellair) and his mother was Alice Catlett Thornton. His maternal grandparents were Rowland Thornton(Crowes) and Elizabeth Catlett. He had eight brothers and six sisters, named John, George, Thomas, William, Francis, Daniel McCarty, Thornton, Henry, Elizabeth, Susannah, Alice, Sarah Anne, Ann Rose and Frances.1 General Notes

K.GEO. VA;"Belmont" is this son of 89, he seems to be born too late,
