1 Louis Custer's father was John William "J. W" Collier and his mother was Telitha Tate. His paternal grandparents were Zachariah Thomas Collier and Elizabeth Hassell; his maternal grandfather was Turner Tate. He had four brothers and six sisters, named John West, Nicholas Avery, Samuel Henry, Walter Fields, Ella Gertrude, Annie Lee, Clarinda Blanche, Cornelia, Mary Olivia "Dimple Or Dimp" and Willie Lou.1 -
