Hortense was born after 1860.1   Hortense's father was Hugh Alexander "Bob" Chambers.  Her paternal grandfather was John Chambers. She had a brother and six sisters, named Eugene, Bessie, Daisy, Lelia, Pauline, Pearl and Sophia.  She was the fourth oldest of the eight children.  Hortense is no longer alive.1
