Clement Bates

Clement was born in Lydd, Kent, England.¹   Clement's father was James Bate and his mother was Mary Martin.  His paternal grandparents were Jurat John Bate and Mildred Ward; his maternal grandparents were James Martin and Joan Adam. He had seven brothers and four sisters, named James, John, Thomas, Edward, Isaac, Joseph, Robert, Anna, Anna, Mary and Rachel.  He died on September 17th, 1671 in Hingham, Plymouth Co., MA.¹
