Joshua Freeman Hooker was also born in North Carolina, but after residing many years in Wilson County, Tennessee, he removed in 1840 to Fayette County, Tennessee, and in 1851 he came to Monroe County, Arkansas, where he died of small-pox in 1866. He was the father of a large family, a farmer by occupation, and was a soldier in the War of 1812, and was with Jackson at New Orleans.
