Comfort was born on May 3rd, 1751 in Rockingham Co. Virginia. Comfort's father was John Slavin and her mother was Elizabeth Stuart. Her maternal grandparents were Daniel Stuart and Mrs. Stuart. She had seven brothers and two sisters, named Reuban, William, John, Isaiah, Daniel, Stewart, Henry, Elizabeth and Naomi V.. She was the second oldest of the ten children. She died at the age of 96 in 1847 in Bath Co. Virginia.-
