Her paternal grandparents were John Anderson Ivie and Anna Robinson; her maternal grandparents were William Allred and Elizabeth Threasher. She had seven brothers and four sisters, named James Russell, John Anderson, William Sheldon, Isaac, Thomas Celton, Martin J., Benjamin, Polly Ann, Elizabeth, Sarah M. and Sally.-
