Stella was born in 1899. Stella's father was John C. Coker and her mother was Nancy Elizabeth Carraway. Her maternal grandparents were Henry C. Carraway and Nancy Coker. She had five brothers and three sisters, named Henry Milton, Clemon C., George W., Frank E., Virgil, Lucy, Arthur and Zella.-
