Robert Almore's father was Nathan Busby and his mother was Rebicka Jane Gray. His paternal grandparents were Jacob Busby and Mirum Self. He had seven half-brothers and two half-sisters, named John Wesley, Bradford, Bradly, Edward Thomas, James Monroe, Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, Maria Jane and Mary Ellen.-
