Narrative
Seeking identity of Anna Thurber, born no earlier than 1760 and no later than 1774. She m. - probably in Richmond NH where they began their family - Iddo Cass, b.11July 1766 Richmond NH. Their children's names included Caleb, Candace, Rachel, Rhoda, Zimri, Roxy, Ann, Susan, and Iddo Martin Cass. Iddo and Anna removed to Worcester (Decatur) NY in 1790s, to Danby NY in 1810s, and to Candor, Tioga Co. NY by 1825 where Iddo d. in 1830, Anna surviving him.
Could Anna be dau. of Caleb 5, John 4, Thomas 3, John 2-1 Thurber? Or could she be the Anna b. Rehoboth MA in 1767 to Ichabod 5, John 4-3, Thomas 2, John 1 ? Or what?
Casses have suspected she is dau. of Hezekiah 4, Samuel 3, James 2, John 1 because Iddo and Elkanah Cass are named together in census lists although they are only third cousins and Elkanah's wife was Sarah Thurber dau. of Hezekiah. Also, the Otsego Co. History states that the first schoolteacher in Decatur NY in 1798 was Samuel Thurber. He might have been the Samuel son of Hezekiah
