Barnard Cogan [38 (or 58), 'mort', 'John Pears' inserted] holds by copy dated 13 Feb. 30 Eliz. I [1587/88] by Sir Anthony Poulet, esq., one messuage and one toft with 2 ferdells of land of Old Auster with appurtenances, to have to him and his wife [inserted 'Margaret wife of John Pears'] for term of their lives by rent thence p.a. 12s.2d and 10 pecks of wheat, 2 heriots, and yerelie to be letten for 8 poundes. Fine 26 poundes 13s4d.

Barnard Cogan [38 - inserted 'now John Pears in right of Margaret his wife'] holds by indenture dated 16 Nov. 10 Eliz.
