Notes for REUBEN STEVENS:
Reuben served in the American Revolution at Danbury and White Plains. Reuben moved to Greene Co. NY about 1793. From "History of Greene Co."
"When Reuben Stevens came to Green County, land was offered him on Katskill Creek for $2.50 per acre, but not having a very high idea of its fertility, he pushed on, and bought a partially improved farm, at what was then known as the "Hemlocks" but now Greenville Center. The farm was later owned by Lyman Sanford. Mr. Stevens lived on this place at the time of his decease, which occurred November 10, 1804."
His death date may be incorrect as his will is dated September 5, 1807 and was recorded March 29, 1809. Additional information on his children can be found in "History of Greene Co."
