Simon was born in 1708 in Lyme, New London, CT.1 Simon's father was Charles de Wolf and his mother was Prudence Beckwith. His paternal grandparents were Edward Nathan de Wolf and Rebecca Tinker; his maternal grandparents were Matthew Beckwith and Elizabeth Unknown. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Charles Dolf, Matthew Nathan, John, Stephen, Joseph, Prudence, Elizabeth, Sarah, Mary and Rebecka. He was the fourth youngest of the eleven children.-
