Carl Elmer was born on November 6th, 1881 in Dayton, Webster, IA. Carl Elmer's father was Charles J Swanstrom and his mother was Lena Catharina Blixt. His paternal grandparents were Sven Jonsson and Anna Greta Johansdotter; his maternal grandparents were Johan Bengtsson Blixt and Lisa Nilsdotter. He had four brothers and a sister, named Charles Melvin, George William, Gustav Albert, Harry Theodore and Elvera Mina. He was the second youngest of the six children. He died at the age of 74 on June 30th, 1956 in Dayton, Webster, IA. He was buried in Dayton Cemetery, Dayton, Webster, IA.-
