George W was born in 1824 in Pultneyville, Wayne, NY.1 George W's father was Frederick Stolp and his mother was Janette Willemena Pepper. His paternal grandparents were Johannes Pieter Stolp and Catrina Chrysler; his maternal grandparents were Abraham Pepper and Willemena Bloomert. He had seven brothers and two sisters, named Abraham Frederick, James B, Peter M, Frederick A, William Russel, Charles West, Henry P, Catherine and Eliza Augusta. He was the fifth youngest of the ten children.-
