Josiah was born in 1688 in Boston, Suffolk, MA.1 Josiah's father was Job Prince and his mother was Rebecca Phippen. His paternal grandparents were John Prince and Alice Honor; his maternal grandparents were Gamaliel Phippen and Sarah Purchase. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Job, Gamaliel, Sarah, Rebecca and Mehitabel.-
