John le Strange IX was born in Whitechurch, Shropshire, England.1 John le Strange IX's father was John le Strange VIII Lord Strange of Blackmere and his mother was Ankaret le Boteler. His paternal grandparents were Fulk le Strange Lord Strange of Blackmere and Eleanor Giffard; his maternal grandparents were William le Boteler II Baron Boteler of Wemme and Ela de Herdeburgh. He had two brothers and a sister, named Hamon, Fulke and Mathilda. He died on May 12th, 1361.1 -
