Somerled II macGillebride was born about 1113 in of Morven, Argyleshire, Scotland.1 Somerled II macGillebride's father was Giolla\Gillebride Brighid Prince of Argyll and his mother was daughter Sigurdsdottir. His paternal grandparents were Giolla Adhamnan and daughter of Argyll; his maternal grandparents were Sigurd Hlodvirsson the Stout Jarl of Orkney and Anleta of Scotland. He was an only child. He died in Abbey of Saddell, Kintyre, Scotland.1 General Notes
