Sancho Garcia de Salzedo was born in 1128 in of Ayala, New Castile, Spain.1 Sancho Garcia de Salzedo's father was Garcia Galindez de Salzedo Lord Ayala and his mother was Alberta Sauz de Zurbano. His paternal grandparents were Galindo Velasquez de Ayala Lord Ayala and Maria de Arangutia de Salzedo; his maternal grandfather was Garcia Sauz de Zurbano Lord Zurbano. He was an only child. He died at the age of 67 in 1195 in Battle of Alarcos.1 General Notes
