Maldred of Scotland was born in 1009 in of Dunbar, East Lothian, Scotland.1 Maldred of Scotland's father was Crinan (Grimus) de Mormaer and his mother was Bethoc Mac Kenneth. His paternal grandfather was Duncan Mormaer of Atholl; his maternal grandfather was Malcolm II King of Scotland. He had a brother named Duncan I the Gracious. He was the younger of the two children. He died due to Slain in battle. at the age of 36 in 1045.1 General Notes

Presidents' Data Base (http://www.dcs.hull.ac.uk/cgi-bin/gedlkup/n=presidents?presidents00490, Univ. of Hull) lists simply as "Maldred" & having two sons, "Maldred" & "Gospatrick"
also Funk&Wagnall's & being the son of Crinan & Bethoc.
[Brøderbund WFT Vol. 2, Ed. 1, Tree #1990, Date of Import: 18 Jul 1996] lists this Maldred as Lord of Allerdale, but follows line of Duncan (Maldred's brother) & never returns to Maldred.
