Joyce Ida was born in 1927 in Lacona, Oswego, NY.1 Joyce Ida's father was Grover Cleveland Joyner and her mother was Hazel Jane Samson. Her paternal grandparents were Francis Franklin Joyner and Medora Castor. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Maurice Edward, Wayne Franklin, Arlene Genevieve and Helen Mabel. She was the second youngest of the five children.-
