Walter was born about 1408 in Foxley, Oxford, Bucks, England. Walter's father was Henry le Fowler and his mother was Isabel Barton. His paternal grandparents were John le Fowler and Margaret Loveday; his maternal grandfather was John Barton. He had two brothers and two sisters, named William, John, Sybil and Isabel. He was the third oldest of the five children.-
