WALTER DEANE claimed of the lord 4 closes called Caprons Downe, now in the tenure of Johane Deane, to hold to himself and his assigns for the term of 21 years next after the decease of JOHANE HIS MOTHER for a fine of 10 pounds of which 5 pounds was to be paid at the feast of St. Michael the Archange next and 5 pounds at Easter [whole entry was crossed out and a note added that THE SISTER WHO WAS IN THE COPY WAS TOHAVE THE SAME AFTER THE DEATH OF THE MOTHER. At the court held 17 Oct. 1561 Walter Deane surrendered the above estate in the premises into the hands of the lord.]

...Johanna Deane widow, who of the lord held certain lands called Caprons Downe has died.
Note at the head of the next page noted the receipt on 27 Oct. 1563 of 5 pounds from Walter Deane, at the hands of John Phelipps, as part payment of an entry fine of 20 pounds.

Walter Deane holds by copy dated 16 Apr. 1565 one heriotable tenement and one cottage to which pertains 17 acres of land viz. a curtilage, garden and orchard [listed lands in commn field] to hold to him and LETTICE HILL, DAUGHTER OF WILLIAM HILL, for their lives by grant of William Petre, kt., rent 14s. [added later] Reversion granted to Elenor Balston and Johane Deane, daughters of the said Johane [sic] for their lives by copy dated 10 Oct. 1593, fine 30 pounds.
