Geoffrey de Mortaigne was born about 1033 in of Perche, Normandy.1 Geoffrey de Mortaigne's father was Routrou I de Montague Vct de Chateaudun and his mother was Adeline de Domfront. His paternal grandparents were Geoffrey I de Mortaigne Ct de Mortaigne and Elensie (de Mortaigne); his maternal grandparents were Warin de Montagne sn de Montagne and Melisende de Chateaudun. He was an only child. He died in October 1100.1 General Notes

Per Weis' "Ancestral Roots. . ." (113A:25), he fought at the Battle of Hastings with WILLIAM THE CONQUERER, but was not slain there. This source says he died Oct 1100.
