Ranulf le Meschines was born in 1017 in France.1 Ranulf le Meschines' father was Ancitel de Bayeux Vct de Bayeux. He was an only child. Ranulf le Meschines is no longer alive.2 General Notes

In Douglas' *William the Conqueror*, p 92-93, there is only a discussion of
Ranulf (spelled Rannulf here) numbers I and II. Douglas states that Ranulf
I was "the son of a vicomte named Anschitil", and that he "survived until
after April 1089", which I didn't know before.
