Absolom was born in 1804 in Jackson co, WV.1 Absolom's father was William Casto and his mother was Hannah Bonnett. His paternal grandparents were David Casto and Phoebe Gandy. He had six brothers and three sisters, named James, William, Jonathan, Benjamin, John G, Levi, Lucretia, Mary Ann Nancy and Rhoda. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Isaac and Margaret.-
