Almira was born in 1812 in Bridgewater, Plymouth, MA.1 Almira's father was Barzillia Cary and her mother was Vashti Snell. Her paternal grandparents were Nathaniel Cary and Sarah Sargent. She had a brother and a sister, named Barzillia and Betsy. She was the second oldest of the three children.-
