Abigail Bixby

Abigail was born on September 5th, 1755 in Shrewsbury, Worcester, MA.¹ Abigail's father was Nathaniel Bixby and her mother was Jerusha Houghton. Her paternal grandparents were Mephibosheth Bixby and Mary Emmons; her maternal grandparents were Joshua Houghton and Elizabeth Bennett. She had three brothers and five sisters, named Levi, Adonijah, Nathaniel, Elizabeth, Jerusha Sarah, Keziah, Lois and Eunice. She was the third youngest of the nine children.
