Edward the Elder 
Edward was born in 0900.1 Edward's father was Alfred the Great and his mother was Alswitha. His paternal grandparents were Aethelwulf and Osburgha; his maternal grandfather was Ethelred the Great. He had a sister named Aelfthryth. He was the younger of the two children. He died at the age of 24 in 0924.1 General Notes

Edward the Elder, King of England (901-924) - m (3) Lady Edgina , daughter of Earl Sigelline, Lord of Peapham, Cullings and Laph orn.
Edward the Elder, son of Alfred the Great, succeeded his fathe r in 901. His succession was disputed by his cousin, Ethelwald t he Atheling, who obtained the help of the Danes. The conflict en ded with the death of Ethelwald in battle, in 905. But Edward st ill carried on war with the Danes, and Mercia, Northumbria, an d East Anglia were subdued by him; and he extended his dominion s by conquests in Scotland and Wales. Died, 925.
