Mrs. C.F. Wertz

Newberry, March 11--Mrs. Maude Chisolm Wertz, 50, wife of Clarence F.
Wertz and prominent Newberrian, died this afternoon at her home here.
She was the daughter of hte late Baptist minister, the Rev. S.P. Chisolm
and Mrs. Chisolm. She was reared and educated in Bamberg and Barnwell
counties. She attended Orangeburg Collegiate institute and then taught
school until her marriage in 1901.

Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Marguerite
Wertz Burnett of Newberry, Miss Mary K. Wertz, a member of th faculty of
the Laurens city schools, and Miss Frances E. Wertz, a senior at
Greenville Woman's college; a sister, Mrs. Kathleen Watson of Bamberg and
Newberry, a brother, Hubert W. Chisolm of Lakeland, Fla.; a half-sister,
Mrs. Claudius Fishburne of Miami, Fla., and two grandchildren, Joyce and
Clarence Burnett.

Funeral services will be held at the home Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock
with the Rev. F.O. Lamoreux, pastor of the First Baptist church in
charge. Interment will follow in Rosemont cemetery.
