Charter of Bernard de St. Walery [sic] dated 11 82-9: gift of land to Oseney "for the health of Aanor my wif e & Bernard my son and all my other children, my parents & my ki nsmen {'amicorum') and especially for the soul of Reynold my so n and for the souls of my father and mother, Maud my [late] wife , Simon my uncle, and all my other 'parentum & amicorum.' " Wi tnesses include "Gerard my nephew vidame of Pinkeny."

Vol. II, pg. 463 Charter of Bernard de St. Walery dated 1182-9 : gift of a
weir or lock to Oseney "for the health of Aanor my wife & Bernar d my son and all my other kinsmen ('amicorum')." Witnesses inc lude "Gerard my nephew vidame of Pinkeni."

Can someone check the revised volumes of Europaische Stammtafel n and tell me how this Gerard was nephew to Bernard de St. Valer y? Bernard de St. Valery appears to have been the father of Ma ud de St. Valery, wife of William de Braose (or Brewes). As su ch, he is the ancestor of many, many people. (..... Douglas Ri chardson )
