Walter Wicker Jr.

Newberry - Services for Walter J. Wicker Jr., 62, will be conducted at 2
p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, with the Rev. D. Brent
Nichols. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family is at
the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Richardson, 637 Mud Creek Rd. and
will receive friends 7-9 tonight at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home, which is
in charge. The family suggests that those desiring may make memorials to
St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2496 S.C. Hwy. 773, Pomaria, SC 29126 or to the
Cancer Research Center at Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Wicker, widower of Hazel Metze Wicker, died Sunday, February 6, 2000
at Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital. Born in Newberry, he was a son
of the late Walter J. Sr. and Ollie Bell Mills Wicker. He was retired
from Uniroyal, Inc. and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Mr. Wicker is survived by his sisters, Eula Mae Dominick, Polly
Richardson, both of Newberry; brother, Joe Wicker of Whitmire; number of
nieces and nephews.
