Arrived in port of Charleston, SC with four children on Sept. 19, 1752 on the ship "Cunliffe", captained by Joseph Cleator. The ship set sail from Rotterdam, Netherlands. Settled in the Dutch Fork area (in the fork of the Saluda and Borad rivers). Peter Dickert petitioned the Council of Governors for 300 acres of land on November 4, 1752. Land granted to him on August 27, 1764 by Governor William Bull. According to daughters tombstone in Charleston, Peter and family originated from Manheim area of Germany. Was a Justice of the Quorum, Justice of the Peace, and an elder of St. Johns Lutheran Church of Pomaria, SC.
