Henry Head was born in England in 1647. He immigrated to America before 1683
and settled in Little Compton, Rhode Island. It is not known whether he
married his wife, Elizabeth Ketchum, before or after leaving England. Henry
made his will 24 March 1708 and it was proven 20 August 1716.

In the Genealogical Dictionary of Rhode Island, published by J. O. Austin of
Providence, in 1881, there is a list of the families who settled there before
1690, The following information appears.
"Henry Head, born 1647, died 1716, July 1; married Elizabeth, who died 1748,
at Little Compton, R.I. Most of the early settlers of Little Compton were of
Pilgrim stock and emigrated from Duxbury or Marshfield or near Plymouth
neighborhood."

Court, in March, ordered the town to pay L20.00 for their contempt and
neglect, and because they 'write rather as equals or neighbors than as
delinquents or offenders'"
