Gozelon I was born about 0970.1 Gozelon I's father was Godefred of Eenham and his mother was Matilda Billung. His paternal grandparents were Gozelo im Bidgau and Uda in Metzgau; his maternal grandparents were Herman Billung and Hildegarde of Westerbourg. He had a half-brother named Arnulf II. He died on April 19th, 1044.1 General Notes
